Description :
ssential oil of Turmeric is extracted through steam distillation of Turmeric rhizomes. Botanically, Turmeric is known as Curcuma longa which is the member of Zingiberaceae family. Rhizomatous herbaceous perennial plant is native of South Asia. It has distinct earthy, slight bitter and slight hot peppery tang with mustard like smell. It is also known as Indian saffron or Poor Man’s Saffron. Oil prepared from Turmeric rhizomes is reddish brown in color and easily blends with ginger, cloves, pimento, nutmeg, cinnamon and clary sage. Turmeric oil is widely appreciated for its health and beauty aid from thousands of years. It contains about 5% of essential oil and 5% of curcumin which is a polyphenol.Turmeric is a perennial plant with roots or tubers about 1 metre in height.
