Michelia champaca is usually found in India and the Indonesian islands, but now also grows in places far west of its origin - Phillipines, southeast China, Réunion, and Madagascar , the flower looks beautiful with deep orange to yellow borne on a medium sized slender Tree of Magnolias .

It has wide use in the temples for spiritual belongings and worships , also used as ornaments to thrive the inner beauty of person souls , its used in Marrriages .

This elated essential oil is extracted by steam distillation of the odorous (young) flowers of a tree regarded as one of the most sanctified trees of India and tropical Asia. Best known as " Sapu " in Sinhala, and "Champika" in Sanskrit

History

According to the Tibetan believe , the next Buddha will fing enlightment uner the beautiful Canopy of Chamapaca tree .

At time of Theravada Buddhism, champaca is said to have used as the tree for achieved enlightenment, or Bodhi by seventeenth Lord Buddha called "Aththadassi.

Harvesting/Extraction Information

The Tree goes well in humid climate and requires soil with more moisture .Natural regeneration can be done around the mother Tree easily.

Michelia Champaca trees gown from seed takes period of 6- 10 years before blooming.These Plants are Harvested whole year but quantity and quality plants are harvested only between June – August month , while Flowers averages around 160 – 210 from single plant per day .
